Fire Station, Portlaoise

Past Developments Officially opened in June 2003, & built by Portlaoise Construction Ltd at a cost of €1.86million, this project involved the demolition of the old fire station and the construction of a new state of the art six-bay station on the Dublin Rd.

The ribbon on the new station was cut by Environment Minister Martin Cullen thus launching a proud new chapter for the fire fighting service in the Laois county town.

The building includes a maintenance garage with training facilities, drill yard, drill tower and lecture room and also houses the modern fleet of fire appliances.
